HAVE A LOOK AROUND

FOLLOW ALONG

Beauty and skincare aren’t things that I talk about a lot, because 1. I use the same products over and over again, and that’s not interesting, and 2. I was never knowledgeable enough in those areas to feel comfortable sharing. Now, I’ve done a lot of research on makeup and skincare and the ingredients in those products to confidently share my skincare and makeup routines and be proud of them.

If you’ve watched my most recent YouTube video, you’d know that I struggled with acne for a long time, and my skin is finally healing from it because I changed the products I was using. This post is going to go in depth of the products I use, how I use them, and all that jazz.

SKINCARE

MY FAVORITE COCONUT OIL

Grab yourself some organic cold pressed coconut oil, and enjoy all of the multitudes of things you can use it for. In the morning, I’ll rinse my face with warm water, sometimes I’ll also gently exfoliate with a damp wash cloth, and then moisturize the dry patches of my face with a pea to thumbnail sized dollop of coconut oil. Keep in mind, a little bit goes a very long way, and too much can clog your pores.

At night, I remove my eye makeup with warm water. (I normally only wear non-waterproof mascara, and thanks to the formula I use, it comes off very easily with water. Not great in humidity, but great for convenient removal.) For my face, I take about 1/3 tsp, give or take, of coconut oil and gently massage that all over my face to melt away the makeup from the day. If you wear more makeup than I do, you might need to use a little bit more coconut oil.

After I’ve massaged the coconut oil all over my face, I’ll wet a washcloth with warm water, and gently remove the coconut oil and makeup from my face with the washcloth using circular motions. Instead of pulling down on my skin to remove the makeup with the washcloth, I’ll gently push up on my skin to help with wrinkles and elasticity. If I need a little extra moisture, I’ll add the smallest bit of coconut oil back on to my face, but washing your makeup off with oil is already very hydrating in and of itself.

MAKEUP

CONCEALER | POWDER | MASCARA | LIP BALM

As I said in my video, I only use 4 makeup products everyday: concealer, setting powder, mascara, and lip balm. I’ll spot conceal wherever I need to, set my face with the powder, curl my lashes and throw on some mascara and lip balm, and I’m out the door. It’s crazy simple, it only takes me 2 minutes, and it’s non-toxic! Yay!
